Candle tubes and the 'Grand Siècle' bulb: the high fashion of lighting
With hundreds of thousands of units sold, the electric candle tube, which you might expect to see wax dripping from, is equipped with a decorative candle bulb. Created in 1960, the model has been a great success, used for all interior styles, from castles to ministries and embassies, equipping all sorts of interiors, indicating its great popularity. From this idea came the 'Grand Siècle' bulb: a current high-technology product, symbolizing sophistication and today lighting up the greatest palaces.
In 1968, the first 'Grand Siècle' decorative candle bulb was launched. Public enthusiasm grew rapidly for this slender and elegant product, graced with a finish unlike any other style of lamps. Several years later, it was the turn of the 'Flickering' candle bulb to make its appearance.
The modern and fluctuating aspects of the flame are produced by an ingenious electronic circuit. The candle tube and the 'Grand Siècle' candle bulb thus, with successive modes and generations, became 'classics' of interior decoration earning Girard-Sudron a reputation as a lighting specialist.
