Exclusive: the candle bulb with the 'translucent' finish
In 2009, the European Union banned bulbs with 'frosted or satin' finishes. It is felt that these bulbs use too much energy, producing more heat than lighting, thus not generating enough lumens in comparison with the energy consumed. From that point on, Girard-Sudron became the only company to have developed unique technology: the 'translucent' finish, which increases the lumens generated while avoiding dazzling.
This replacement solution will be available on the market until 2012 for incandescent sources with tungsten filaments, and until 2016 for halogen sources. Girard–Sudron's translucent candle bulbs combine technical innovation with refinement for elegant trimming of chandeliers and wall-mounted lamps.
The 'translucent' finish was designed to replace the 'frosted' finish of incandescent bulbs with tungsten filaments and halogen bulbs. While remaining transparent, the translucent candle bulbs and the translucent halogen candle bulbs emit more lumens than frosted bulbs and, as they are lightly veiled, do not dazzle. They thus guarantee lighting that is efficient and economical while respecting the environment.
This finish, unique in the world and validated by the German laboratory TÜV Rheinland, is the result of the innovation of the Girard-Sudron teams and the factory located in Italy, NEOLAMP. Grand Siècle, Coup De Vent, New Torch, Twist, Versailles... translucent candle bulbs are available in different ranges.
